This Pendant was produced from a Kiln Fired Dichroic Glass Base with Precious Silver Metal Clay embellishments.
It was unfortunately stolen from the Sydney Royal Easter Show Craft Competition after winning a Second place in the Metal Clay Section. It's safe return would be appreciated- No questions asked.
A whimsical Landscape featuring a tree with birdsnest, toadstools, rocks, pond and flora, completely handbuilt in Precious Metal Silver Clay, fired on a gas stove and given an antique finish.
This Large framed landscape in Precious Metal Silver Clay (Fine 99.9% Silver) was entered into the Japanese Art Clay Silver Competition and was exhibited in the Gallery in Japan and appears in the Exhibition Catalogue.
This is just a small protion of the lanscape on the top of the bracelet that won the 2007 Australian Silver Clay Artist of the Year Award (Beads Etc Magazine). A Toadstool and Sugar Glider Possom are seen in this section.
The rest of the bracelet featured all handbuilt logs, rockeries, a pond and various Australian Flora, mounted on a rolled silver sheet square bracelet. All but the final attachment of the bracelet were fired on a domestiv gas stove, something the metal clay world considered not possible at the time.
The Competition prize won a PMC Kiln, however the stovetop is still used extensively for these pieces because of it's convenience and ease of use.
The use of Liver of Sulphur to oxydise the piece produced a rainbow of colours,
